Has a Copper Canyon teacher or staff member made a difference in your child’s life? The United Parent Council (UPC) honors PVUSD teachers and staff members annually through its Teacher-Staff Appreciation Awards. Parents and students who wish to nominate a teacher or staff member can complete the nomination form, including a short letter as to why the nominee is deserving of the award.

The school’s south parking lot will be closed beginning tomorrow. The north parking lot will be the only drive-thru pick up/drop off lot for the next two weeks. Please give yourself a little extra time and have some patience. After all, we are setting an example for our children!

Freaky Friday was my favorite film as a child. In the decades before multi-tiered cable television options – wait! I don’t think there even was cable TV then – this 1976 Disney movie starring Jodie Foster as a daughter who switches bodies with her mother would air several times a year. Role reversal was such an amazing concept to my pre-tween self, almost up there with Wonder Woman’s invisible jet and the Care Bears. I remember imagining it’d be so neat to switch lives with my mom and wear Love’s Baby Soft, not have to go to school and stay up past 9 pm.

Valentine Grams go on sale next week! Tues the 17th thru Friday the 20th STUGO will be selling them during lunch time! They will be delivered to the classrooms on Feb 13th. They are just as fun to send as receive! Each gram will cost $1 and inlcude a Cuddle Spiky Guy and a lollipop!
